I was hesitant to watch the film Olympus Has Fallen because at first glance I really didn't think it was worth the time and money. I have this gut-feeling that it's a slumber-fest. Thank goodness, a friend convinced me to check the film out and see what I was missing. Word of mouth really helps especially when you're lazy enough not to check the Internet for the movie reviews.
Come to think of it, the film has a stellar cast consisting of Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman. Not only that, Dylan McDermott, Angela Bassett, and Ashley Judd were also there to spice things up with their supporting roles. I only realized this while watching the movie and was mortified by the idea that I could have missed all of this just because of utter indifference.
Thumbs up to Director Antoine Fuqua for a job well done. The plot is not really unique or original. Many films have already done similar stories before. However, the execution and delivery is just breath-taking and only a skilled director could pull such a thing off.
Olympus Has Fallen is a story of how the most secure building of the world has fallen into the hands of terrorists. It's a suspense-thriller that takes you to the edge of your seat. Talk about no dull moment. I could barely get my off my eyes on the screen. It's that gripping. And not many movies could affect me like that.
If you still haven't seen it, I suggest you should. Olympus Has Fallen gets 5 stars for staying true to its claim of suspense and thrill.
